How Advancement Works
Advancement in Cub Scouting is designed to be positive, achievable, and fun. Scouts work on age-appropriate Adventures, earn recognition along the way, and progress toward their rank badge. Recognition celebrates effort, progress, and doing your best.
Each rank includes six required Adventures and two elective Adventures. Bobcat is a required Adventure at every rank and is usually completed early in the year.
Lion, Tiger, Wolf, and Bear Scouts typically receive Adventure loops; Webelos and Arrow of Light Scouts receive Adventure pins.
